Arriving in Algiers with your motorcycles, this route begins in Algeria’s vibrant capital—often called “Alger la Blanche”—where Ottoman-era heritage meets striking white French colonial architecture, with the historic Casbah at its heart.
Heading southwest, you’ll ride into the Atlas Mountains toward Sétif, the famed “city on the hill.” Along the way, you’ll stop at the remarkable Roman ruins of Djemila, home to the Temple of Severus and the Arch of Caracalla, before continuing to the dramatic cliffside city of Constantine or Cirta, the ancient capital of the Berber kingdom of Numidia.
From there, the journey turns south toward one of North Africa’s greatest treasures, “the Pompeii of north Africa”, Timgad, the astonishingly well-preserved Roman city founded by Emperor Trajan.
The next three days immerse you in the landscapes you’ve been waiting for—sweeping into the edge of the Sahara. Ride through the spectacular Ghoufi Canyon, pass through Ouled Djellal for an authentic local experience, and continue to Bou Saâda—known as the “City of Happiness” and the “Gateway to the Sahara.”
With fuel still in your tank, your final & longest stretch brings you back to Algiers for your last night, blending desert roads with the lush, winding mountain scenery of the Chréa region
